My boyfriend lied to me about where he was. He told me he was with a friend, instead he was with...

his other "friend" who is a complete idiot and has no respect for anyone but himself. My boyfriend knows this. How to deal with him? Help!?!

Gonna have to think on you feet during the time He is lying to you rather than catch on hours later......

I don't have much time for people that lie to me.  If someone lies to me about the little things aren't they going to lie about the big ones too?  If you can't trust someone because they lie, then you can't trust them because they are a liar.
Communicating in a relationship is just too important to treat it so nonchalantly. Honesty and openness are crucial to keeping communication flowing.  If I found out that my husband lied to me about where he was and with whom ( and it didn't involve a surprise or anything ), my trust in him would falter.
Sure repairing trust can be done and I wouldn't throw away years of marriage over it but I would have to address it. He would have to know that even the little lies cause mistrust and that I expect honesty at all times.

A liar can't be trusted.  If your boyfriend has a habit of lying, he needs to change his behavior. Otherwise, there is not much chance for you to develop a good, long lasting relationship with him.

One lie leads to another and another, remember that, and no one needs lies in a relationship.

'Boyfriend/girlfriend' relationships can come and go, but friendships often outlast them.  I would not interfere with a man and his mates nor try to tell him which ones he can and cannot hang out with.  You may not like this other friend, clearly you call him a 'complete idiot' but how would you like it if that's what your boyfriend called one of your friends.  With more trust and respect about this he would not feel like he needs to lie to you about who he is spending time with when you're not around.

I think, from personal experience, that he may have lied because he knew you'd be upset and maybe start a fight or whatever.
    OR
he lied because GUYS LIE. They lie about everything; important stuff, unimportant stuff, stuff that's obviously a lie, whatever they can lie about, they do. And I'm not slamming guys; I'm just saying from 40 years on this planet, I know they lie before telling the truth ever even occurs to them. For no reason at all. Maybe without even realizing they're doing it sometimes.
    OR
he was planning to be with the first friend, and then the second friend came along and somehow it ended up being the two of them instead of the original two. ANd he didn't think he needed to explain it to you because
    (I'm sorry)
    it's none of your business.
    I'm sorry.
Wait...are you married? No, you said boyfriend. Okay, so yeah...it's none of your business.
I'm not trying to be mean, I swear.
